🧶 Materials You’ll Need
-
Yarn: Approximately 1,449 yards of worsted weight yarn, divided into 7 skeins (you can pick your favorite color combination). The original yarn used is now discontinued, so feel free to substitute with any soft worsted weight yarn you love.
-
Crochet Hook: Size H/8 (5.0 mm)
-
Other Tools: Scissors, tapestry needle for weaving in ends
💡 About the Bobble Stitch
The magic of the bobble stitch lies in its three-dimensional texture. It’s worked from the wrong side of your project, so each bobble pops out on the right side as you go.
To create a bobble (dc5tog in this pattern), you’ll:
-
Yarn over, insert your hook into the same stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through two loops—repeat this five times in the same stitch, leaving the final loop of each dc unworked.
-
After 5 partial double crochets, you’ll have 6 loops on your hook.
-
Yarn over one last time and pull through all 6 loops.
-
Tighten slightly, then make the next single crochet. This will push the bobble outward and secure it in place.
